Poll: do you know about Thomas Sankara, former Socialist president of Burkina Faso who lived like his people?

By all accounts he was a good socialist leader other than the fact that he was never elected. Unfortunately tribal politics played a part in his demise. And the country has suffered since under the leadership of his predecessor Compaore. No public education has led the country to a very low literacy rate and it has one of the lowest GDP's in the world.
