Need Help About Marijuana Charges.?

Hi, a while back i was charged with Poss. of Marijuana (1 gram) and parrepheniallia (pipe and a home made bong). it took 6 months for me to get the papers in the mail for a trial date and summons. Ironicly 3 days before i got this in the mail i got in another incident involving me having poss. of 10 grams of marijuana, a pipe and bong (the pipe and bong wherent mine but i get charged becuase it was in my car). Question is when i go to court for my first offence ill prolyl get a fine and probation, but what about this second charge? (the police want me to rat ppl out in order to lower my charge which they say "we cant promise you anything", im not one to rat ppl out but i dont exactly want to go to jail seeing that im not a bad person and i have college starting up soon, so what does it look like im going to get for the second charge? a extended probation and hefty fine or jail time?
