OMG HELP HELP HELP IM GOING CRAZY?

ok so im a guy and at my school theres this new girls shes been there for two weeks so shes not that new, i really like her but im not sure if she likes me.i kinda sorta asked her to the dance but she said she was going with this little pimping lol...... she didn't really want to go wit him but i guess felt bad. she asked me to tell him ,since im cool with him to lay off. i did and then she said she wasn't going with him any more. i really don't want to go to the dance alone so i told her i wasn't going **** she just texted me lol .... k so i told her i wasn't going and she begged me to go. i really like her and i know she likes me i just am not sure if she likes me in the bf gf way i mean i always talk and sit right next to her at lunch and we don't shut up lol so i dont know what to do. i just dont want to ask her if she likes me and have her get mad, and then not want to be. i mean we spend alot of time together at school she pracicaly fell asleep on my shoulder today at a stupid show we were having in school. today she was saying she didnt look good in her drees and i coaxed her in showing a picture of her and i told her she look really really good (and damn does she) .but thats not the important thing to me she just really sweet and i just dont know what to do and im going NUT'S
